Securing sites: large contract for Locken in South France
Locken, specializing in access control autonomous and without wiring solutions by smart keys and electronic cylinder has just won a tender for the 300 sites equipment including 20 classified critical infrastructures covering a territory of more than 30 Commons, on behalf of an independent water authority in the South of the France.
Amount of 350 €000, this contract provides for the deployment of the security of all the sites of the Board over three years, with a first installation at 15 sites in the summer 2011. Locken thus will install a total of 1 000 cylinders, 150 electronic key and 7 distributors of access Locken (DARIR) rights.
Managing all activities related to the production and distribution of drinking water, the water authority had large needs in terms of security of all of its sites, including about 20 of them classified critical infrastructures. It was an economic, homogeneous and wireless solution, likely as well equipped production facilities in the city than tanks, catchments and boreholes in the wilderness.
The challenge was to find a simple alternative to the old mechanical key system that had became obsolete, and that should not require travel on the doors. Also, the security system had to provide energy in the key, be patented by the NCPCS A2P *, and be imperatively equipped with an anti-hooking system After a series of unsuccessful consultations, the Board addressed Locken for a study of project that has allowed developing a simple and economic solution was the only one able to meet all the required characteristic:
-no installation of wiring, the intelligence should be in the key
-high resistance to weather conditions(-40 ° C to + 70 ° C) -no mechanical key entry
-software solution hosted by Locken for the protection of the access to drinking water-related sites
-simplified and remote maintenance.
-system patented by the NCPCS
-solution referenced on a national architecture.
After a first series of tests, the authority could already see the benefits of the installation, including through the Elimination of mechanical keys, in the implementation of the traceability and identification of personnel with access to facilities (the system perfectly meets the standards non-standardized Locken), to the follow-up of sub-contractors and lost key management Article published in the issue 344 of the "la revue l'Eau, l'Industrie, les Nuisances" (09/2011)
